Eating Seasonally - Nutritional Benefits and Meal Planning
Why are locally sourced foods more nutrient rich than big box food stores? Why are food miles important? Why should I eat seasonally? Some receive summer produce shares through a local Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) ot grow new vegetables varieties in the back yard. Lucky people will be gifted more than zucchini. Sometimes it's hard to know what to do with all the produce. We will have a recipe demonstration using simple ingredients. (and tasting!). Also bring your family favorite meal or entrée and learn how to incorporate seasonal foods into your daily menus. Hands on menu planning and extra time for Q&A.
Casey is a long-time employee of TG and she is currently studying for her master's degree in dietetics.
Registration funds will go to her for school.
